Our Story

Antone Sylvester Tug

Established in 1957 by Antone and Dorothy Sylvester, Sylvester Tug serviced ports in El Segundo, San Pedro, Avila Beach, Morro Bay, and Moss Landing. The business and its employees saw action involving Japanese U-boats during World War II, and the original engine repair shop is now used as barrel storage and winemaker lab for the winery.

Dick & Dolores

What began as a retirement project back in 1999 blossomed into a full-time labor of love for the late Dick and Dolores Kelsey, long-time residents of See Canyon. While 100% of our grapes are now sourced, the winery property used to play host to the Estate Chardonnay and Estate Pinot Noir. Dick and Dolores have also made space for the 200+ wild peacocks on the property, with more chicks hatching each year.

Colleen Gnos

A local artist and Kelsey Family relative, Colleen Gnos is an extraordinarily talented artist, with whom we've been incredibly fortunate to partner. Her original artwork is the basis for all of our wine labels, and catches the eye wherever our wine is found. When not playing for The Mother Cornshuckers, she can be found at her studio in San Luis Obispo showcasing her current and new projects and themes.
